Children’s Groups
We want children to have a fantastic time, to know they're as much part of our Sunday services as the adults and to look forward to coming back..!
Morning and afternoon services at All Souls, we've groups for children that start part-way through the service, once we've had some time all together in church.
There's provision for under-11's at both services and for teenagers at the afternoon service only.
Our groups are led by a team of some sixty volunteers - mostly parents - who each lead a group once a month. All are CRB checked and supported with training and resources by the All Souls Staff Team.
Here's what your children can look forward to...
- Crèche - Babies, crawlers and young toddlers (up to about 2 years) have a dedicated Crèche room, with toys and activities, sofas for parents and coffee! Organised by a rota of leaders, we build up a rota of extra 'staying parents' each week, so parents get Sundays back in church regularly.
- Explorers - for pre-schoolers from around 2 years' old to just before they start their nursery year. Play-based in a fun and relaxed environment. A simple craft, Bible story and singing. Several parents often choose to stay with their children in addition to the team.
- Gems - children in their Nursery year before school – a fun environment, with craft activities, games, Bible story, prayer and songs. During the afternoon service, this combines with Explorers.
- Soul Time - for the Primary School age range of Reception through to Year 6. Three age-group teams (Reds: R & 1, Greens: yrs 2,3 & 4, Blues: yrs 5 & 6) each have their own leader(s) and age-appropriate activities and crafts. Some of the session is spent altogether, usually with a short DVD to tell the Bible story, team games and sung worship (either an instrumental group or a CD/DVD). Loads of fun, activity and friendship!
- Underground - for teenagers, during the afternoon service only. A growing group (some twenty-strong) of those at Secondary school and 6th-form college.
