Save it!
1.8 billion people globally consume 20 litres per day. The average person in the UK uses more than 150 liters a day, of which 50 litres is to flush the loo. There are heaps of ways to save water, as well as energy and money, by making simple changes to how you use water and by installing some simple water saving devices.
Use a toilet hippo or brick to cut your flush, cut the time you spend in the shower and turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. Only half fill your bath. When you do your laundry make sure the drum is full. In new bathrooms / kitchens, install a duel flush button, water saving faucet and shower-heads, look for ‘A’ rated washing machines and dishwashers (if you have to have one at all!). Put a water butt in your garden to cut use of the hose. Go really eco and use rainwater to flush your loo, or use your bathwater to water the garden. Water companies can help you calculate your water use to see what needs changing most.
